Candy Cane Dash 5K and 1K

What better way is there to get into the spirit of the Christmas season than participating in the Fifth Annual Candy Cane Dash 5K and 1K on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 at the Talley Rec Center in beautiful Baker Park, Frederick, MD?
Runners, walkers and “skippers” of all ages, genders and abilities are welcomed at the Candy Cane Dash. From the serious competitor (chip timing) to the Dad who insists on embarrassing the kids by running (or walking) the race dressed as an elf (or Mrs. Claus?), to those who’ve never run or walked in an event before, this is the event for you!
These fun and festive runs benefit Girls on the Run of Frederick County (GOTR) scholarships and program expenses. Girls in the GOTR fall program will be running Candy Cane Dash as their end of program celebration – their spirit and smiles will be infectious!
Costumes, good food, good music and prizes (age group, costume, random), plus candy canes for all! That’s why Candy Cane Dash is quickly becoming a family tradition for many area families-shouldn’t yours be another?
