My sister Tiffany, at the age of 31, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Metaplastic Breast Carcinoma Stage 2B in September of 2016. Merely months after achieving remission, we received the most devastating news — Tiffany’s cancer metastasized to her brain, liver, lungs, and bones. On Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 Tiffany passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Throughout her cancer battle, Tiffany’s strength and courage were and still remain palpable among all those whose lives she touched.

A Sister’s Promise for Hope Foundation was founded in February 2018 with the mission to support breast cancer funding and promote awareness. A Sister’s Promise for Hope Foundation is a component of The Community Foundations of Carroll County, Inc. and, as such, has IRS 501 (c)3 charitable organization and tax-exempt status through them.

We donated $12,000 to National Institutes of Health (NIH) for Triple Negative Breast Cancer Research. The following year we traveled to Houston, Texas to hand delivered a $20,000 check to the #1 cancer center in the nation, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The donation was applied to the Moon Shot Program for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. In 2020, we donated $35,000 to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, towards the single-cell sequencing research initiative, focused on metastatic disease to improve diagnostic tools and treatment strategies for patients with breast cancer. Since the start of the foundation, we have donated a total of $67,000 to research. My promises to my sister resonated deep within me, I am ready to continue to build my sister’s legacy to make an impact on cancer, as I promised her I would. So, this year we want to raise an additional $33,000 for the GRAND TOTAL OF $100,000 to research!
