Greta began her running journey in 2017 when she tried out for her high school track team. She competed in the 55, 100, 200, 300, and 400 meter dashes. She also ran a leg in the team’s 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relay races. During her junior year, her 4×200 indoor relay team broke the Brunswick High School relay record and brought home a bronze medal from the Maryland State Track Meet.

Her senior year of high school, Greta was recruited to run for the Hood College Women’s Track and Field Team. During her freshman year, she ran her first season of cross country and competed in the 60, 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes as well as relays. Greta also qualified for the conference 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes and competed in all three events at the Mid-Atlantic Conference Track Meet. Greta’s sophomore year was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and all sports competitions were put on hold. Greta decided to take a step back from competitive running and began running on her own, for fun and fitness.

In the winter of 2020, Greta started exploring distance running on her own. She enjoys sharing her passion of running and her running journey on her social media account, feelgoodfitnessacct. In the winter of 2021, she ran her first 5K. In the spring of 2022, she ran her first half marathon at the St. Michael’s Running Festival and fell in love with the event. She ran two 5Ks and two 10Ks in 2022. She is currently training for her second half marathon, the Frederick Half, and will also be running the Pacific Beach Half Marathon later this year. She plans to run her first full marathon in 2024. Her biggest running goal is to qualify and run in the Boston Marathon!

Greta has been a member of the Steeplechasers since October 2022.
