This week’s awesome member spotlight is on one of the Steeplechasers’ brand new members, Thomas Duffy:

Hi, my name is Thomas and I’m a Person With a Disability (PWD) who has a passion for running! I live in the Spring Ridge community of Frederick with my wife and 2-year-old son. Despite my physical setbacks, I have found that running provides me with a sense of freedom. I first started running a few years ago doing small 3k and 5k events – which quickly grew to 10k, 10-milers, and half-marathons! With a little help from members of the running community, I would like to pursue my lifelong dream of running a full marathon!

: I stumbled upon the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club Facebook page, and I was impressed with the deep connections that everyone had with each other. It was heartwarming to see how much everyone cared for one another and was willing to go the extra mile to help each other achieve their goals. As a PWD, father, runner, and Frederick neighbor, this truly spoke volumes to me! I’m looking forward to running, volunteering, and getting to know each other in the near future. Thank you!
